Words just can’t describe Retired Corporal Todd Simpson Love or how absolutely amazing he really is. Todd doesn’t remember that last step he took. He remembers very little of the events that occurred on October 25, 2010 which forever changed his life. While on patrol in Sangin province, Afghanistan, Corporal Love became an intended victim of a huge improvised explosive device (IED) buried by the Taliban alongside the main route leading from the village Love’s patrol had just passed. On this horrible day, Corporal Love lost both of his legs and his arm. That hasn’t stopped him. He immediately became active while rehabilitating, even in extreme sports. He has refused to let his injuries prevent him from living his life to the fullest of his abilities. He has become an extreme sports enthusiast. Love has participated in skydiving, skiing and surfing, and even wrestled a 400-pound alligator in Florida. Touchingly, the injured veteran has also learned to play piano. He is a member of Operation Enduring Warrior (OEW), a non-profit organization with an ongoing mission to Honor, Empower and Motivate our nation’s wounded heroes. Known for donning blacked out gas masks for endurance events that restrict 25 – 30% of oxygen intake, Todd has no problem completing races with the Team while using his arm and a prosthesis to get through obstacles. Love continues to motivate anyone that he meets and he’s definitely someone to keep an eye on as he continues to do unbelievable and amazing things!
